The rise of podcasts

Podcasts have become a popular medium for sharing knowledge and engaging audiences across a wide range of topics. According to the Internet Foundation’s report “Swedes and the Internet,” nearly half of Sweden’s population listens to podcasts, and the number continues to grow.

In 2023, 48% of Swedes listened to podcasts, an increase from 43% in 2022. About one in six people listens daily, and among people born in the 1990s, eight out of ten listen to podcasts, with more than a third listening every day.

Because of this growth, monitoring podcasts and their content has become an important part of a company’s media monitoring, marketing, and crisis management strategy.

With All Ears’ advanced AI technology for transcribing and analyzing podcast content, you can easily stay informed about what is being said about your company, your competitors, and emerging trends in the media landscape.

A podcast for everyone

It’s clear that there is a podcast for every interest, especially as listening continues to grow.

In the “Swedes and the Internet” survey, participants were asked to name their favorite podcasts. Among the ten most popular podcasts, five were produced by Sveriges Radio, Sweden’s national public broadcaster.

All of their podcasts, along with more than 2.5 million additional podcasts—are available in the All Ears database.
